SALEM, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition this evening at the Willamette Invitational on the Charles Bowles Track with several PRs and three more Pilots in the record books.

Senior Madison Leek and freshman Grace Bley and Maya Murphy-Cook each produced new personal records in their respective events to update the UP record books. Leek placed fourth overall in the 400m meter to move up to fourth all- time, crossing the finish line at 56.89. Bley and Murphy-Cook each also registered PRs in the 100m moving Bley up to fourth all time with her time of 12.40 and Murphy-Cook to eighth at 12.55. Several other Pilots on the women's side also set new personal records today including senior Grace McConnochie in the 5000m (16:40.90), sophomores Courtney Vacek in the triple jump (11.44m) and Skye Chen-Johnson in the 100m (13.30).
"Our sprinters had another great day and Kaylie Van Look punched her ticket to the NCAA first round in the javelin," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "Our 5k women also really impressed me with our first three under 17 min and nice PRs for Lindsay Tompkins and Sophia Noto. "

On the men's side most all Pilots who competed in the 5000m set new PRs this afternoon. In the 1500m, sophomore Trent Mazelli led the way with his overall second place finish (3:53.27), followed by redshirt freshman Caleb Web who came in fourth (3:55.51) in his first appearance of the spring season. Senior Conor Johnston also won his heat to set a new PR of 4:05.30 in the 1500m.

"Great job across the board today," said men's head coach Rob Conner "Super happy with our 5K guys. We got nice PR's from Fabian Tomas, Cole Shugart, Erik Holm, Ryan Clarke, and Andrew Jenck. On top of that Sam Lomax Battled for the win the 1500 guys all ran PR's or close to it as well."
