THIS WEEKÂ
• The Pilots embark on their first road trip of the season to the Bay Area, taking on San Francisco and Santa Clara
• Portland will first face the Dons on Thursday night at 7 pm. USF is led by freshman Erica Ronda and sophomore Carly Lowry who have 152 and 138 kills on the season, respectively.
• San Francisco enters the weekend coming off of two tough matches against No. 9 BYU and No.17 San Diego. The Dons took the Toreros to four sets Thursday night before they were swept by the Cougars on Saturday.
• The Pilots will then face Santa Clara on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos are led on offense by sophomore Michelle Gajdka and senior Jensen Cunningham with 162 and 148 kills, respectively. Cunningham also has 44 blocks to combine with sophomore Taylor Odom on defense, who has 48 blocks.
• Santa Clara also played BYU and San Diego last weekend and fell to both teams 3-0.Â
• Last season the Pilots recorded their first ever conference road sweep against USF and Santa Clara.Â

LAST WEEK
• The Pilots opened conference play in the Chiles Center as they hosted Pacific on Thursday night, and Saint Mary's on Saturday afternoon.Â
• Portland almost completed a comeback in five sets against Pacific, after the Tigers started the match ahead 2-0. Pacific ultimately claimed the fifth set and escaped the Chiles Center with the 3-2 win.
• The Pilots bounced back on Saturday afternoon to split the weekend with a sweep over Saint Mary's.Â

ABOUT THE PILOTS
• The program welcomed six true freshmen to The Bluff as one of the top Portland recruiting classes in Pilot history. The newcomers ranked in the top-55 nationally and top-three in the West Coast Conference. Liz Reich and Kassidy Naone hold All-American honors from several publications, while Carey Williams was named to the Defensive Dandy Third-Team.
• The Pilots were picked to place third in conference going into preseason, marking the highest ever vote for the program in the Preseason Poll. Senior Hannah Troutman was also named to the All-WCC Preseason team.Â
• Portland claimed the Rumble in the Rockies tournament title to start the 2017 season and were also named the Champions of the Lobo Classic.
• The sweep over UTA at the Lobo Classic marked Crouch's 100th match as head coach for the Pilots.Â
• Five different Pilots have earned All-Tournament Honors at their four preseason tournaments. Reghan Pukis was named to the North Harbour Mariott Invitational and Rumble in the Rockies All-Tournament teams, Katie Barker the Lobo Classic tournament team, and Carey Williams also earned Rumble in the Rockies All-Tournament honors. Thompson has landed on the All-Tournament team at all four preseason tournaments, and was named Most Outstanding setter at the Lobo Classic. Troutman was named tournament MVP to start the season at the Rumble in the Rockies, and also claimed All-Tournament honors at the Nike Invite and Lobo Classic.Â
• Troutman currently leads the WCC in attacks per set (11.87) and total attacks (617). She also ranks second in kills per set (3.96), points (230.5), and total kills (206).
• Barker ranks first in conference in service aces (20) and second in aces per set (.38)
• Thompson is first in league in assists (563) and is just behind Barker in aces (19).
• The team leads the WCC in five different categories: aces per set (1.69), digs per set (16.06), team digs (835), team service aces (88), and team total attacks (1,946).
