SPOKANE, Wash. – The Portland women's tennis team opened play on Friday at the Gonzaga Invitational, the final fall event for the Pilots.
Freshman Angela Schuster won in straight sets against Shion Watabe of Idaho in singles and then teamed with sophomore Lourdes Ramalle for a doubles win against a team from New Mexico State.
Sophomore Raphaelle Leblanc also recorded an impressive three-set comeback victory against Anna Findley of Idaho in singles.
Complete Portland results from day one of the Gonzaga Invitational are listed below. In addition to host Gonzaga, the Pilots are competing against players from Idaho and New Mexico State. The tournament continues Saturday and will conclude on Sunday.
