BOSTON, Mass. --- Redshirt seniors Lauren LaRocco and Taryn Rawlings both competed in the Indoor 5000m at the BU Season Opener at Boston University on Saturday afternoon. LaRocco (15:33.20) broke the school record, which she had previously held, by 17 seconds, while Rawlings jumped into to the all-time records at third all-time.
"Lauren ran another fantastic race," said head coach Ian Solof. "That's an incredible PR and she hung in there really well with the super-fast pace. Taryn was tired, but to still be under 16 minutes is excellent."
Both Portland men's and women's indoor track and field teams will next compete at the UW Indoor Preview on January 12, in Seattle, Wash.
