THIS WEEK - NUTTYCOMBE
• In just nine years, the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour has established itself as one of the nation's premier collegiate meets. The 10th-annual event is set for Friday, Sept. 28, 2018.
• The highlight of the event an 8-kilometer men's race and a 6-kilometer women's race. The event also includes "B' races for both men and women.
• All races will be held on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
• This year's men's race will consist of 18 ranked teams in this week's USTFCCCA's national poll, including: #1 NAU,
#3 Portland, #5 Iowa State, #6 Alabama, #7 Colorado, #9 Wisconsin, #10 Colorado State, #14 Southern Utah, #15 Washington State, #17 Air Force, #21 Michigan State, # 22 Oklahoma State, #25 NC State, #26 Boise State, #27 Villanova, and #30 Texas.
• This year's women's race will consist of 15 ranked teams in this week's USTFCCCA's national poll, including: #1 New Mexico, #2 Colorado, #5 Boise State, #6 NC State, #7 Wisconsin, #8 Villanova, #9 Arkansas, #13 Penn State, #15 Michigan State, #17 Iowa State, #19 Indiana State, #25 Providence, #27 Georgetown,
#29 Portland, #29 Oklahoma State.
• The Portland Men competing: (Seniors) Nick Hauger, Noah Schutte, Gabriel Haughey, Stuart McCallum; (Juniors) Caleb Webb, Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse; (Sophomores) Riley Osen.
• The Portland Women competing are: (Seniors) Lauren LaRocco, Taryn Rawlings, Courtney Cox, Virag Weiler; (Juniors) Aoibhe Richardson, Sophia Noto; (Sophomore) Jasmine Fehr.
• Quote - Ian Solof : "I'm excited for both meets. Wisconsin will be a good chance to see the varsity for the first time and will allow them to get a feel for the course. Willamette is always a fun competitive meet and we will have a strong team there as well."
• This year's Nuttycombe meet will consist of two races per gender with a max of 35 teams in each "A" race. The women's "B" race will take place at 11 a.m. with the men's "B" race to follow at 11:40 a.m. The women's "A" race will begin at 12:20 p.m. and the men's "A" race starts at 1 p.m.

• The Pilots will send another group of runners to compete at the Charles Bowles Invite in Salem, Ore., on Friday.
•The Portland Women competing are: (Juniors) Natalie Smith, Dylan Hite, Maddy Lyons, Karli Piaia, Allegra Vanderwilde; (Sophomore) Lacey Conner, Emily Bechen Alexandra Newsom; (Freshmen) Savanna Craig, Sophia Castiglioni, Ellee Becker, Katelyn Schultz
• The Portland Men competing are: (Juniors) Cobie Chavez-Killinger, Devin Wulff, Matt Schumann, Said Guermali, Ryan Clarke, Andrew Jenck; (Sophomores) Cole Shugart, Peter Allegre, Henry Hayes; (Freshmen) Jake Knoblich, James Parker, Thomas Salas.

LAST WEEK
• The Portland men won the Dellinger Invite with a total of 25 points. Sophomore Reuben Kiprono was the individual winner, crossing the finish line in 24:39.5. All of the Pilot men placed all six runners in the top 15.
• The Portland women also ran at the Dellinger Invite, producing a fourth place finish.

2018 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• The Portland Men opened up the 2018 season by claiming the Portland State Invite. Said Guermali led the Pilots with a first place finish and was named the WCC Runner of the Week for his performance.
• The Portland women won their second meet of the year, the Oregon Preview. The Pilots placed six runners in the top-10, with redshirt sophomore Susan Van Weperen leading the way with a third place finish.

PILOTS IN THE POLLS
• Men's Cross Country was picked to finish second to BYU in the 2018 WCC Preseason Poll.
• The women were picked to finish third, behind BYU and San Francisco who tied in the WCC Preseason polls with first place votes.
• LaRocco's was ranked in the preseason by FloTrack as the No.19 individual and senior Noah Schutte has been predicted to make a huge jump to No. 22. Schutte was the seventh man for the Pilots at last year's national meet finishing 148th. The Pilot most recently finished 23rd at the European 3K Steeplechase Championships.
• Roudolff-Levisse checked in at the No. 10 men's individual in the preseason FloTrack rankings and the Portland men were picked to finish third as a team.
• The Pilot women have also made an appearance in the FloTrack women's Team poll, checking in at No. 12.
• PRESEASON - USTFCCCA Regional Poll, the men ranked No. 1 in the West region, while the women rank No. 7. In the national poll, the Men were ranked No.3 and the women were receiving votes.
• WEEK 2 - USTFCCCA Poll: the men remained at No.3, while the women broke into the polls at No.27.
• WEEK 2: USTFCCCA Poll - the men remain at No.3 and the women moved down a spot to No.28.
