MALIBU, Calif. – Portland junior Jelena Lukic lost a hard-fought, three-set singles match to Marta Perez Mur of Texas in the opening round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Pre-Qualifying Draw.

Lukic took the first set by a 6-4 margin, but Perez Mur answered with a 7-5 win in the second set and then clinched 6-3 in the third.

The Riviera/ITA All-American Championships is one of the top fall collegiate tennis tournaments. Players that advance out of the Pre-Qualifying Draw move to the Qualifying Singles Draw, scheduled for October 2-3 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
