SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track and field teams produced several record book worthy performances to conclude the final day of the UW Invite on Saturday afternoon. Redshirt Senior Taryn Rawlings highlighted the day on the women's side, breaking her own UP indoor mile record, besting her previous time of 4:40.78 to 4:36.92.

Senior Logan Orndorf again posted an incredible performance to move up to second all-time in the indoor 3000m, finishing sixth in his heat with a time of 7:52.33. Junior Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse was right behind him in the fastest heat of the 3000m, crossing the line ninth overall in 7:55.05. Roudolff-Levisse records a new PR in the indoor 3000m, but remains at fourth all-time in the UP records.

Redshirt junior Caleb Webb also ran an exceptional 3000m, winning his heat, posting a new personal best of 8:04.73. Following Webb Sophomore Evert Silva came close to winning the heat, for a second-place finish. Silva also posted a new personal best of 8:04.91 to clinch the 10
th spot on the UP all-time records list. Senior Noah Schutte ran a similar time to Webb and Silva on the day in the third heat, producing a time of 8:05.24.
"Our guys ran great this weekend, I couldn't be happier," said men's head coach Rob Conner. "Everyone competed well and ran smart. For us, it is still very early in the process but the fitness is there. It is a good start!"

In the women's 3000m, redshirt Aoibhe Richardson led the women with a second-place finish in her heat to break into the women's 3000m records at eighth all-time. Redshirt sophomore Susan Van Weperen who also ran in Richardson's heat, was able to post a new personal record of 9:46.65.

"Taryn ran great in her season opener and was well under her school record," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "I was also impressed by Aoibhe, Susan, and Maya, who all took a nice step in their development."

Redshirt Cobie Chavez-Killinger (1:54.22) ran a tough race to start the day, just crossing the line second in his heat in a final close 100m dash for first place in the 800m. Junior Maya Murphy-Cook also ran a new personal best in the 60m dash, clocking in a 7.96.

Both teams will next be in action at the Husky Classic on Feb 8-9, with select men traveling to Iowa on the same weekend to compete at the Iowa State Classic.
