THIS WEEK: NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
• The Pilots will send select runners to compete at the NCAA Championships at Lavern Gibson Championships Cross Country Course in Terra Haute, Ind.
• Anna Pataki received an at large bid to compete in the women's race, while the men's team earned an automatic bid after winning the regional meet last weekend.
• Quote from women's head coach Ian Solof: "Anna is feeling good and excited to race. it will be cold, wet, and muddy but she is a very tough competitor so I am totally confident in her. She will also pick up a lot of valuable experience for the future simply by running this race."
• Quote from men's head coach Rob Conner: "I know the guys will give their best efforts because they have worked very hard to be as prepared as possible. We are excited to see what that hard work gets us."

LAST MEET: NCAA WEST REGIONAL
• The #11 Portland men's cross country team defended their third straight West Region team title.
• Senior Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse claimed second place overall in the 10K.
• Five scorers for Portland collected All-West Region honors by placing in the top 25 individually.
• The Portland Pilots women's cross country team claimed sixth place in the team scores.
• Portland had two runners place in the top 25 and receive All-West Region honors, including redshirt-sophomore Anna Pataki and sophomore Emma Jenkins.

2019 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• The University of Portland men's and women's cross country teams both earned runner-up finishes at the 2019 West Coast Conference Championships.
• Anna Pataki placed 11th individually to lead Portland with a time of 20:46.56.
• In the men's 8K race, three Pilots earned All-WCC recognition led by Reuben Kiprono as the top Portland finisher in sixth place with a time of 23:49.72.
• At the prestigious Nuttycombe Invitational, the Portland women finished in 24th place overall, while the men claimed a 9th place finish in the team scores.
• In the women's championship division, Anna Pataki crossed first for Portland in 47th place with her time of 20:45.2.
• In the men's 8K, Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse claimed an impressive ninth place finish in a time of 23:57.3.
• In the second meet of the weekend, Pilots' men's cross country team won the team title and the women's team took second at the Warner Pacific XC Classic.
• The Portland men claimed the top three individual places in the 8K: Joe Horen (25:02.9), Joey Duerr (25:03.0), and Michael Teran-Solano (25:03.1).
• In the women's 5K, Natalie Smith crossed first for Portland with a time of 19:04.6 for 10th place.
• The Portland men's cross country team claimed the Charles Bowles Invitational team title with 48 points.
• Matt Schumann led three Pilots in the Top 10 individually with a third-place overall finish. Cameron Thompson placed sixth and Cole Shugart took eighth place.
• The women's team finished in second place overall with 86 points.
• The Pilot women had four harriers finish in the top 20 paced by Grace Ritchie in fourth place with a time of 18:05.4.
• At the Dellinger Invitational, the men's team totaled 182 points in the 8K for fifth place in the team scores.
• Sophomore Justin Hazell finished first for the Pilots in 23:53.9, a new personal best which was good for 13th place overall.
• In the women's 6K, the Pilots finished eighth in the team total, and it was Anna Pataki who led the way with her personal record of 20:19.5 for 14th place individually.
• Junior Victoria Weir won the individual title and led the Portland women to the team championship at the Western Oregon University Sundowner.
• Pilots took the top three spots individually in the 6K meet and won the team title with a score of 43 points.
• In the men's 8K meet, the Pilots finished second with a team score of 55.
• Senior Matt Schumann led the way for Portland with a fourth-place finish in a time of 24:57.8.
• The Portland men's team claimed the team title at the PSU Viking Rust Buster with a total of 20 points, including PRs from seven of eight runners.
• Reuben Kiprono won first place overall in the men's 6k race with his time of 18:11.9.
• The Pilots' women's team finished third in the team scores, and Grace Perkins led the way with a seventh place finish in the 4k and a PR of 14:13.5.
• Perkins was one of eight Pilots to PR for Portland in the women's 4k.
• Both Portland's men's and women's teams won the team titles at the Linfield Harrier Classic in McMinnville, Oregon. The men's team won with a score of 19 points, and the women with a score of 27.
• Cameron Thompson was the top finisher for the men in the 6K, claiming second place with a time of 19:34.4.
• Redshirt freshman Ellie Misuraca claimed her first individual win in the women's 4K with a time of 15:34.5.

LAST SEASON
• The men's cross country team finished third at the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships, marking the third time in five years that the Pilots have finished third or better and on the podium.
• At the 2018 West Regional in Sacramento, Calif., the Portland men swept the team and individual trophies.
• Redshirt senior Nick Haguer claimed Portland's second straight individual title and lead the Pilots to their third team West Region title.
• The Pilot men's team graduated Logan Orndorf, Nick Hauger, Stuart McCallum, Michael Somers, and Noah Schutte, who were all members of last year's third place team.
• Portland men's head coach Rob Connor earned his second consecutive and sixth overall West Region Coach of the Year award in 2018.Â
• Last year's seniors Lauren LaRocco and Taryn Rawlings both earned All-American honors while leading the Pilot's women's team to their best finish in program history at the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
• The women's team will be without LaRocco and Rawlings in 2019, in addition to recently graduated team members Becca Howard, Aoibhe Richardson, and Courtney Cox.
• On the academic side, six Pilots combined from the men's and women's teams were named USTFCCCA All-Academic. Noah Schutte was also named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic West All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country team, for the second year in a row.

• In the USTFCCCA Week 7 National Poll, the men rank No. 5 overall.
• In the USTFCCCA Week 7 Regional Polls, the men rank No. 1 in the West region, while the women rank No. 6.
