PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland senior right-hander Chris Clements is the Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week after tossing a complete-game shutout against the Northern Colorado Bears on Sunday. Clemens struck out 13 during the 4-0 win as the Pilots completed a four-game sweep at Joe Etzel Field.
Â
Clements scattered six hits and walked just one to help the Pilots win their sixth straight game and improve to 13-4 on the year. It's the first shutout registered by a Portland pitcher since 2015, and the 13 K's are the most for the program since Kevin Baker also fanned 13 in 2017.
Â
On the year, Clements is a perfect 4-0, his ERA is 1.47, and he's holding opposing hitters to a .156 batting average. He was also named the WCC's Pitcher of the Week last week after collecting his first complete-game win of the season.
