PORTLAND, Ore. – The Saint Mary's Gaels posted a 4-0 sweep of the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference women's tennis match Friday at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center. The Gaels improve to 9-8 overall and 5-1 in WCC play, while the Pilots drop to 7-10 and 2-5 in the league.

The Gaels set the tone in doubles with comfortable wins at the top two positions. The No. 35-ranked tandem of Hind Abdelouahid and Mariia Kozyreva defeated Jelena Lukic and Anna Oberg at No. 1 doubles, while Clementine Clement and Chloe Goyette clinched with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.

Saint Mary's went ahead 3-0 with a pair of straight set wins from Goyette and Clement at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. At the top of the lineup, Lukic and nationally-ranked Kozyreva played a high-level match. Lukic took the first set 6-3, but Kozyreva pulled out a second set tiebreaker and then won 6-1 in the third to clinch the overall match.
