PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland took control early and was dominant in a 4-1 victory over the Pacific Tigers in a West Coast Conference women's tennis match Saturday at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots improve to 8-10 overall and 3-5 in WCC play, while the Tigers fall to 4-12 and 1-6 in the league.

Portland jumped out early with a comfortable win in doubles. The No. 1 duo of juniors Jelena Lukic and Anna Oberg won by a 6-2 margin, while junior Emily Soares and sophomore Lourdes Ramalle clinched with a 6-1 win at No. 2. Freshman Angela Schuster and sophomore Laura Okazaki were leading 4-1 at the No. 3 position.

Lukic doubled Portland's lead with a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over Anneroos Nederstigt. Soares recorded a three-set, comeback win at No. 3 singles against Karina Vyrlan to give Portland its third point.

Ramalle finished the scoring with a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Maya Lopez at No. 4 singles. In the two unfinished singles matches, Schuster was up a set and leading 2-1 in the second against Anna Ramos Vinolas at the No. 5 spot. Oberg was ahead 4-1 in a first set tiebreaker at No. 6.

The Tigers picked up a singles victory from Dohee Lee at the No. 2 position for their lone point.

Portland will next visit Oregon on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. match and then close the regular season by hosting Gonzaga on Saturday at 11 a.m. That match will have live video and scoring available at PortlandPilots.com.
