STANFORD, Calif. --- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track and field teams set a handful of PR's and left their marks on the program record books with a solid night at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford on Thursday. All four Pilots who finished set new PR's.
Â
Lauren LaRocco, a redshirt-senior and seven-time All-American, ran the 5,000 meters, and she mobbed to a new PR of 15:55.60. She finished ninth overall in her heat, and her time is the third fastest in UP program history.
Â
The Pilots then had five entries in the men's 5,000 meters, and Evert Silva, Caleb Webb, and Michael Teran-Solan each claimed a PR. Silva's time of 13:48.04 is the fifth fastest all-time at Portland.
Â
Webb's time of 13:56.34 topped his previous PR by four seconds, and it comes in at No. 8 on the program's all-time list. Teran-Solan was just a second back of Webb, and he crushed his previous PR with a time of 13:57.30, which cracks Portland's top-10 list at No. 10.
Â
Tomorrow night the Pilots continue the outdoor season at the Portland Twilight at Lewis & Clark College.
