PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 12 BYU Cougars (12-4-1, 7-1-0 WCC) came to Merlo Field and took down the Portland Pilots (8-8-0, 4-4-0 WCC) 3-0. Bella Folino scored twice for BYU while Rachel McCarthy had the other goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. Mikayla Colohan took the ball all the way down to the end line and played a low cross into the box for Rachel McCarthy. The sophomore finished it for the score.
- BYU added to their lead with two goals in three minutes. Bella Folino scored both the goals for the Cougars, with one in the 54th minute and another in the 57th.
- Despite allowing three goals, Bre Norris posted five saves for the Pilots.
PILOT POINTS
- Norris earned at least five saves for the seventh time this season.
- The loss snaps Portland's three-game winning streak.
- Before the match, the Pilots honored their nine seniors on the team.
