PORTLAND, Ore.---The Pilots men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete for the second time this week when they head over to the campus of Lewis & Clark on Saturday for a local invitational meet.

Veerle Bakker will appear first for the Portland women in the 3000 meter steeplechase, set to begin at 11:45 a.m.
 
13 members of the Pilots men's team will compete soon after in two heats of the men's 1500 meter run, scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
 
Just earlier this week, several runners from the men's and women's teams raced at the Willamette Dual Meet, where Maya Murphy-Cook and Caleb Webb each notched Top-10 all-time best finishes in their respective events. Murphy-Cook registered an individual win in the women's 200 meter dash and tied the fourth-best time in program history with a new PR of 25.20. Webb then recorded the eighth-best time in the Portland record books in the 1500 meter run, finishing in an impressive 1:51.56.
 
The last time Laura Pellicoro raced in the 1500 meter run at Lewis & Clark, the Portland newcomer nabbed the eighth-best all-time record in the event with a time of 4:22.52.
 
Women's sprinter Tara Fuiten also holds the current 10th-place all-time record in the women's 400 meter dash, which she set recently this past March.
 
Following the completion of the Lewis & Clark Invite, both Portland's men's and women's track and field teams will head down to Eugene to compete in the UO Relays at Hayward Field on Friday, April 23.
