SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Portland volleyball team could not beat an opposing Toreros offense Thursday on the road falling to San Diego in straight sets (21-25, 24-26, 17-25). The loss dropped Portland's record to 9-13 overall and 2-9 in WCC action.

Elin Larsson finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Pilots attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .292. Portland got 9 digs from Noelani Helm to lead them defensively.

Portland trailed by as many as eight points as San Diego grabbed the advantage for good at 14-13 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Toreros took over in the second half of the stanza.
