SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots got goals from Ruby Settle and Cally Togiai in a 2-0 shutout win against San Diego on the road at Torero Stadium to stay unbeaten through 12 games. The win improved Portland's record to 8-0-4 overall and 2-0-0 in WCC play.
How it Happened
- Portland took a 1-0 lead when Togiai scored her fourth goal of the season in the 47th minute, assisted by Settle.
- The Pilots extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Settle -- her first goal of the season and her career -- in the 62nd minute. Neither team added another goal in the match.
Game Notes
- Settle's goal was the first of her career. She is the 12th goal scorer of the season for Portland and the seventh to score their first goal of their career.
- Togiai now leads the Pilots in points at 11 and is tied for the team lead in goals with assists. The last Pilot with at least four goals and three assists in a season was Taryn Ries in 2019.
- The Pilots have eight shutouts on the year, matching last year's total. Their eight shutouts through 12 games are the most since 2009
- Their unbeaten streak is the longest since 2005, when the Pilots won the national championship and finished 23-0-2.
