No. 9 Pilots Pick up 1-0 Road Win at San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – No. 9 Portland shut out San Francisco 1-0 Saturday on the road at Negoesco Stadium. Gurman Sangha's second half goal was all the Pilots needed to improve to 8-0-3 overall and 2-0-0 in West Coast Conference action. The Dons drop to 6-3-2 and 0-2-0 in league play.

How it Happened
Portland opened the scoring when Sangha scored his third goal of the season in the 65th minute. Sangha raced onto a ball in the box and headed past the Dons goalkeeper for the game-winner.

Game Notes

  • George Tasouris totaled one save for the Pilots out of four total Dons shots.
  • Portland put tallied seven total shots and put three on goal.
  • The Pilots have allowed one goal or less in the last nine matches and recorded five shutouts during that span.
  • With the Pilot women defeating Pepperdine at home on Saturday, Portland remains the only program in the nation with undefeated men's and women's soccer teams.
  • The Pilots are one of seven unbeaten men's teams in the country.
