PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland volleyball team needed only four sets (25-21, 25-11, 25-27, 25-23, 25-23) to beat the San Francisco Dons Thursday at home at Chiles Center. The win boosted the Pilots' record to 10-15 overall and 3-11 in WCC action.
The Pilots were led by a double-double from Jayde Harris, who registered 16 kills and 12 digs on the day. Maui Robins also added 13 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Grace Zilbert chipped in for with 13 digs to go with five blocks from Elin Larsson.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots opened up an early one set to none lead, winning the first set 25-21. Portland never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 15-14 in a set that showcased three lead changes before the Pilots took over in the second half of the stanza. Portland also supplemented their offense with four aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Portland put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-11 victory in set number two. The Pilots grabbed control of the set lead early on at 4-3 and never trailed. Portland opened its biggest lead of the stanza, 14 points, to close out the set.
SET 3 | Portland couldn't end the match in a sweep, dropping the third set to make their lead two sets to one in the match. The Pilots came up short in a back-and-forth battle, losing 27-25 in a set that featured nine lead changes and was tied 14 times. Neither team had a lead of more than three points along the way.
SET 4 | Portland then responded to earn the match win with a 25-23 set-four victory. A solid showing on the attacking end led the Pilots to victory in the set. Portland registered a .310 attack percentage with 12 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands three times, the Pilots took control for good at 24-23 and rode that advantage to victory. Portland also supplemented their offense with three aces in the set. Portland got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four San Francisco attacks in the stanza.
