PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland volleyball team lost in five sets (20-25, 25-23, 15-25, 26-24, 13-15) to the Santa Clara Broncos Saturday at home at Chiles Center. The loss dropped Portland's record to 10-16 overall and 3-12 in WCC play.
The Pilots were led by a double-double from Jayde Harris, who registered 25 kills and 10 digs on the day. Elin Larsson also added 10 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Keilani Mumolo chipped in for Portland with 13 digs to go with six blocks from Charity Bradley.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots fell behind early, losing the first set 25-20. Portland trailed by as many as eight points as Santa Clara never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up two times before the Broncos took control.
SET 2 | Portland responded to pick up a 25-23 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Pilots persevered in a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured six lead changes and was tied 15 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. The Pilots racked up 17 kills over the course of the set. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Santa Clara attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Santa Clara responded to win set number three, putting Portland in a two sets to one hole. The Pilots fell in a tough set 25-15. Portland trailed by as many as 10 points as Santa Clara grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up two times before the Broncos took over the lead.
SET 4 | Portland then responded to win set four 26-24 to force a fifth set. The Pilots came out on top of a close battle, winning in a stanza that was tied 14 times and had seven lead changes. The Pilots win came in a stanza where 19 of their 26 points came via the kill. Portland got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four Santa Clara attacks in the stanza.
SET 5 | Portland was on the wrong side of a back-and-forth match, winning the second and fourth sets, but losing the first, third and fifth, which they dropped by the score of 15-13, to fall in the match. The Pilots couldn't endure a furious Santa Clara rally in the fifth set, losing after leading by six points at 9-3 earlier in the set.
