PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots winger Brandon Cambridge added to his list of awards this week, being named the College Soccer News Player of the Week. It's the first time Cambridge has won the award.
Cambridge impressed this past weekend, scoring a hat trick against Santa Clara in a 4-0 rout. It's the second time this season a Pilot has earned three goals or more and the fifth time a Pilot has done so since 2016. His goals also helped the Pilots finish the regular season undefeated at home for the first time since 1995.
It's been a stellar season for Cambridge, who now sits at 28 points, 12 points more than the next closest player. It's also the highest total by a Pilot since Steven Evans had 31 in 2012. He is the only player in the conference with 10 goals or more (11) and the only one with at least five goals and five assists (six assists). He is sixth in the nation in points and ninth in goals.
The Pilots head into the week with an 11-2-3 record and a 5-1 record in WCC play. They'll take on the Pacific Tigers this weekend in Stockton, Calif., with the teams set to face off on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
