SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced on Tuesday the WCC All-Academic Team for Men and Women's Cross Country. The WCC's All-Academic Teams feature student-athletes who excelled this year both academically and athletically.
The Pilot women earned a total of eight All-WCC academic honors - one First Team and seven Honorable Mentions.
For the First Team awards, only BYU, Gonzaga, Portland, Saint Mary's, San Francisco and Santa Clara were represented. For the Pilots, Laura Pellicoro earned First Team WCC Women's Cross Country All-Academic honors, one of only 10 women to do so. This was Pellicoro's first time earning All-WCC First Team honors after earning honorable mention honors last year.
For Honorable Mention honors, the Pilots were represented by Lauren Block, Alexa Hague, Phoebe McKnight, Mie Nielsen, Teresa Perez, Sam Prusse and Tiahna Woodger.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic team for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to their team.
