LOS ANGELES, Calif. --The Portland volleyball team could not out-play a dynamic Lions offense Tuesday on the road losing to Loyola Marymount (CA) in straight sets (11-25, 19-25, 22-25).
The loss dropped Portland's record to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in WCC action.
Maui Robins finished with five kills on the day to lead the Pilots attack. Portland got seven digs from Grace Zilbert to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | Portland lost the second set 25-19, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Portland trailed by as many as six points as Loyola Marymount (CA) grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was tied up four times before the Lions took over the lead.
SET 3 | Portland was not able to win set three and was swept by Loyola Marymount (CA). The Pilots fell in a back-and-forth battle, losing 25-22 in a set that featured four lead changes and was tied eight times. Neither team had a lead of more than three points along the way.
