PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland volleyball team could not beat an aggressive Cougars offense Thursday at home, losing to BYU in three sets (12-25, 20-25, 24-26). The loss dropped Portland's record to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in WCC play.
The Pilots' attack was paced by Jayde Harris, who finished with 12 kills on the day, and by Lucia Busso, who had 10 while hitting .471. The Pilots also got 9 digs from Grace Zilbert to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-12. Portland trailed by as many as 13 points as BYU never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Cougars took control.
SET 2 | Portland then dropped the second set 25-20 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Pilots trailed by as many as six points as BYU grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up five times before the Cougars took over the lead.
SET 3 | Portland was not able to win the third set and was swept by BYU. The Pilots dropped a close set, losing 26-24 in a stanza that was tied eight times and had two lead changes.
