SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Pilots had another successful weekend in Seattle, garnering a total of 17Â personal records and three all-time marks, including a school record.
For the women, Laura Pellicoro finished second overall in the mile run with a time of 4:34.24, breaking her own school record. Courtney Klatt also capitalized on the day, running 4:48.19 - good for No. 5 All-time. Sam Prusse, Mathilde Deswaef, Teresa Perez and Tiahna Woodger all ran personal bests on the day.
Mie Nielsen ran a personal best of 9:36.36 in the Women's 3,000 meter to finish fourth overall in her heat.
Following the meet, Coach Ian Solof said, "The women all ran great today, with lots of PRs and high finishes! Laura was coming off being sick but still lowered her school record in the mile. Sam and Mie both impressed me with their smart, tough racing, and Tiahna had a nice heat win."Â
For the men, the 3,000 Meter event was the highlight of the meet. Zak Kirk ran a time of 7:57.49 - good for the eighth fastest time in school history. Ahmed Sado, in his Pilot debut runs a PR of 8:04.84 to win heat four of the same event. Additionally, Estanis Ruiz, Teddy Buckley, Daniel Abdala, Chris Anderson, Nolan Hosbein, Dalton Kaines and Leo Donlea all ran personal bests.
Moe Ombougno ran a PR of 50.50 in the 400 to finish eleventh overall. Yutaka Roberts won heat four of the men's 800 Meter run, finishing just off his personal best in 1:51.96.
The Pilots return home next week to host the Portland Indoor Two meet on Sunday, February 5th in the Chiles Center. UW Invitational Seattle, Wash. January 28, 2023
