PORTLAND, Ore. -- Elin Larsson and Maui Robins both put up double-doubles to help power the Portland volleyball team to a 3-1 win (25-14, 28-26, 24-26, 28-26) against the Gonzaga Bulldogs Saturday at home at Chiles Center. The win moved the Pilots' record to 7-14 overall and 2-7 in WCC play.
The Pilots were led by the double-doubles from Larsson, who had 14 kills and 11 digs, and Robins, who had 20 kills and 16 digs. Taina Kaauwai added eight kills to help the offense.Robins also pitched in with nine in the contest. On the defensive end, Maddie Corpe chipped in for the Pilots with nine digs to go with seven blocks from Griselda Memia.

SET 1 | The Pilots grabbed control of the set-one lead at 3-2 and never trailed to win 25-14. Portland opened up its biggest lead, 11 points, to finish off the set. Portland also supplemented their offense with six aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Portland put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 28-26 victory in set number two. The Pilots persevered in a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured 10 lead changes and was tied 15 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. The Pilots racked up 17 kills over the course of the set. The Portland offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Gonzaga attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Portland saw its chance for a 3-0 sweep end when Gonzaga took the third set. The Pilots dropped the set 26-24 despite a solid performance on the attacking end. Portland put together a .346 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set loss.
SET 4 | Portland then responded to earn the match win with a 28-26 set-four victory. The Pilots survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured eight lead changes and was tied 14 times. Neither team was able to grab a lead larger than three points along the way. The Pilots win came in a stanza where 19 of their 28 points came via the kill. Portland got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four Gonzaga attacks in the stanza.
