PORTLAND, Ore. -- Elin Larsson and Maui Robins each secured double-doubles to help lead the Portland volleyball team to a 3-2 victory (25-22, 25-19, 20-25, 25-27, 15-11) over the San Francisco Dons Thursday at home at Chiles Center. The victory moved the Pilots' record to 8-14 overall and 3-7 in WCC action.
The Pilots were led by double-doubles from Larsson, who had 13 kills and 10 digs, and Robins, who had 15 kills and 12 digs. Lia Hawken added 15 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Kili Robins chipped in for the Pilots with 18 digs to go with five blocks from Taina Kaauwai.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots took set one 25-22 helped by a solid showing on the attacking side. Portland put together a .522 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set victory. After the lead changed hands three times, the Pilots took control for good at 9-8 and rode that advantage to victory. Portland also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Portland put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-19 victory in set number two. The Pilots grabbed control of the set lead early on at 4-3 and never trailed. Portland led by as many as 12 points at 21-9 before finishing off the set, totaling 16 kills along the way.
SET 3 | Portland saw its chance at a sweep end when San Francisco took the third set. The Pilots came up short by the score of 25-20. San Francisco grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up four times before the Dons took over the lead.
SET 4 | Portland then dropped their second straight set 27-25 to brind the match level at two sets apiece. The Pilots dropped a close set, losing in a stanza that was tied 11 times and had three lead changes.
SET 5 | Portland needed a fifth set to seal the match win. After they grabbed a two sets to none lead, San Francisco responded to take the third and fourth sets before the Pilots finished off their victory with a 15-11 fifth-set win. The Pilots scored first and never trailed in the fifth set to secure the victory. Portland ended on a high note, opening its biggest lead of the stanza, four points, to close out the set, totaling 11 kills along the way.
