LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Portland volleyball team could not overcome a potent Lions offense Thursday on the road losing to Loyola Marymount in straight sets (10-25, 20-25, 14-25). The loss dropped Portland's record to 8-16 overall and 3-9 in WCC play.
Elin Larsson finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Pilots attack. Portland also got 4 digs from Kili Robins to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Pilots found themselves in an early deficit, losing a tough first set 25-10. Portland trailed by as many as 15 points as Loyola Marymount grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 in a set that was notted up three times before the Lions took control.
SET 2 | Portland fell in the second set 25-20, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Pilots fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Portland was not able to win the third set and was swept by Loyola Marymount. The Pilots lost a tough set 25-14. Portland trailed by as many as 11 points as Loyola Marymount grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was knotted up two times before the Lions took over the lead.
