BOSTON, Mass. -- Laura Pellicoro and Fleur Templier open their 2023-24 track season running the 3,000 meter distance at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. Pellicoro's time of 9:00.46 would cut off over three seconds from her previous school record of 9:03.81, while also placing her second in her heat. Fleur Templier also set the French U-20 record in the same race with a time of 9:21.14.
Templier would make her Pilot debut on the track, earning herself the second fastest 3,000 meter race of her career and her fastest ever indoors. Her time of 9:21.14 was also good enough to move her well within the top-10 times in Pilot history, placing her at No. 6 all-time. Templier's mark was also a French U-20 indoor 3,000 meter record, breaking the old mark of Liv Westphal by over eight seconds (9:29.23).
The Pilot women will take a break from racing until the 2024 calendar year where they will open up at the UW Indoor Preview on Jan. 13, 2024. For more coverage and info, visit PortlandPilots.com.
