SEATTLE, Wash. -- Laura Pellicoro bettered her school record by two seconds, running 4:32.91 to win the women's mile run at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Meet. Pellicoro's mark currently sits at 14th in the country, likely qualifying her for the NCAA Championships in two weeks.
The women's mile was overall successful for the Pilots, with Klatt, Pellicoro, and Pettersson all netting PRs. Courtney Klatt's mark of 4:47.07, slices another second from her personal best and moves her to No. 5 All-Time. Stina Pettersson ran 4:53.37 to better her best by three seconds.
The 3,000 meter was another highlight of the meet with many Pilots running just off their PRs. Zak Kirk completed a strong 5K/3K double, running a PR of 7:56.13. His mark is good for No. 7 All-Time. Mathilde Deswaef and Daniel Abdala ran within the same second of their bests, finishing in 9:35.23 and 8:06.93, respectively.
The Pilots will wait to see which of their marks qualify for the NCAA Championships set to take place on Mar. 10-11, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM.
