PORTLAND, Ore. – Pilot Basketball forwards Moses Wood and Alex Fowler have been named your U.S. Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of January.
Wood excelled in the month of January averaging just under 20 points a contest at 19.3. along with 5.2 boards. He posted shooting splits of .569/.550/.909 (FG%/3FG%/FT%) as well. He scored a season-high 26 in a key road win over San Diego and also scored 20 points to start the month against San Francisco.
Fowler had a record-breaking month for the Pilots, becoming the all-time leading scorer for Pilots who only played Division I. She passed the mark after scoring 10 points against LMU on Jan. 28. Fowler also averaged 18.6 points per game in January along with five rebounds and three assists per contest. She was named WCC Player of the Week three times, making it four on the season, and was also named to the midseason watch list for the 2023 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award presented by Her Hoop Stats.
