Sacramento, Calif. –  Laura Pellicoro advanced to the quarterfinals of the 1500-meter run on Day two of the NCAA West Regional Championships hosted at hosted at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif. 

Pellicoro finished second in her heat with a time of 4:15.28 to earn an automatic advancement. The top five from each heat and the next four fastest times advance out of the first round. Pellicoro stayed relaxed in the middle of the pack for the early stages of the race. During the second half, a group of six broke off from the remainder of the field to earn their spots in the quarterfinal. Pellicoro will return at 5:15 P.M. on Saturday, May 27th for the quarterfinal round of the women's 1500 meter race. 

The Pilots will have six men running tomorrow, Friday, May 26th. Starting off the day will be Cathal Doyle in the quarterfinal round of the men's 1,500-meter at 5:15 p.m. (PT). Estanis Ruiz and Ahmed Sado will line up in the men's 3,000-meter Steeplechase quarterfinals at 5:40 P.M. (PT) and finally, a trio of Jonas Gertsen, Zak Kirk and Matt Strangio will compete in the men's 5,000-meter run at 8:10 P.M. (PT).
