Sacramento, Calif. –  Laura Pellicoro qualifies for the NCAA Championships in the women's 1500 meter for the first time. This will be her fifth NCAA Championships (1 Cross Country, 2 NCAA Indoor, 2 NCAA Outdoor).

Pellicoro ran near the front of the pack, matching the moves of her competitors for the first phases of the race. With a lap to run, a total of nine competitors were within half a second of each other vying for a nationals qualifier. Pellicoro passed three competitors in the final lap to finish fifth in heat 1 with a time of 4:12.94, good for 12th overall.

Pellicoro will join two of her teammates in Austin for the Championships, Cathal Doyle in the 1500 meter and Matt Strangio in the 5,000 meter. The group of Pilots is the largest to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships since 2018.
