PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots Men's Soccer plays their final exhibition on Friday, Aug. 18 against the Southern Oregon Raiders. Kickoff for the match is set for 7 p.m.
The Pilots enter the season ranked 13
th in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Preseason Rankings. In 2022, the Pilots went 15-3-3 for their best record and win percentage (.786) since the 1995 season. They made the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in six fall seasons under head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt and advanced all the way to the Elite Eight, which is also the furthest they have advanced since 1995.
The Raiders come to Portland as one of the favorites to dominate the Cascade Conference, being picked to finish second in the preseason coaches poll. In six years under head coach Davie Carmichael, the team has gone 62-17-8 overall and 43-9-4 in CCC play, the best mark in conference of any CCC team since 2018.
