HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- The Portland volleyball team fell Friday as the Nicholls Lady Colonels posted a 3-1 (22-25, 9-25, 25-15, 23-25) win at the Johnson Coliseum.The non-conference loss dropped Portland to 1-1 on the season.
The Pilots were led by a double-double from Maui Robins, who registered 19 kills and 13 digs on the day. Lia Hawken also added 13 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Larkin Chock chipped in for with 13 digs to go with three blocks from Taina Kaauwai.

SET 2 | Portland dropped set two 25-9, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Portland trailed by as many as 16 points as Nicholls grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up just once before the Lady Colonels took over the lead.
SET 3 | Portland got on the board after a win in the third set to make it a 2-1 match. The Pilots led from the opening point on in the set to secure a 25-15 victory. Portland opened up as much as a 10 point lead at 22-12 before finishing off the set, totaling 17 kills along the way.
SET 4 | Portland couldn't keep the momentum and lost in the fourth set 25-23 to drop the match. Nicholls grabbed the advantage for good at 24-23 and Portland wasn't able to recover in a set that was tied up eight times before the Lady Colonels took over in the second half of the stanza.
