SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Portland volleyball team won the first set, but couldn't hold on and lost in four sets (25-20, 16-25, 17-25, 15-25) to the San Jose State Spartans Friday at The Nest. The non-conference loss moved Portland to 2-2 on the season.
Maui Robins finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Pilots offense. got 14 digs from Kili Robins along with six blocks from Una Rajkovic to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | Portland fell in set two 25-16 to even the match 1-1. Portland trailed by as many as nine points as San Jose State grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 in a set that was tied up two times before the Spartans took over the lead.
SET 3 | Portland fell again in the third set to make it a 2-1 deficit. The Pilots lost the first point and never took the lead before falling in the set 25-17.
SET 4 | Portland lost set four and the match, falling 25-15. The Pilots fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before losing the set.
