LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The Portland volleyball team fell to the Coppin State Lady Eagles 3-1 (19-25, 28-26, 18-25, 17-25) Saturday at Cox Pavilion. The non-conference loss moved Portland to 5-7 on the season.
Maui Robins finished with 14 kills on the day to lead the Pilots attack. The Pilots got 10 digs from Kili Robins to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-19. Portland trailed by as many as six points as Coppin State grabbed the advantage for good at 20-19 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Lady Eagles took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Portland tied the match at 1-1 with a 28-26 second-set win. The Pilots survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured 11 lead changes and was tied 17 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. The Portland offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Coppin State attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Portland dropped the third set, putting the Pilots in a 2-1 hole. The Pilots lost a tough set 25-18. Portland trailed by as many as seven points as Coppin State grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 in a set that was tied up six times before the Lady Eagles took over the lead.
SET 4 | Portland then lost the fourth set 25-17 to finish off the match. The Pilots trailed by as many as eight points as Coppin State grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 and Portland wasn't able to recover in a set that was knotted up five times before the Lady Eagles took over.
