LIBERTY, Ore. -- The Portland Women's Cross Country team finished a close second overall in the Oak Knoll Loop Run. The Pilots finished with a score total of 41 points, getting edged out by cross-town rival Portland State who finished with 40 points.
Portland was led by Swedish native, Stina Pettersson, who finished third overall in a personal record of 22:07.8. Pettersson was followed by Tait Rowley who finished ninth in 22:30.2, Izzy Lochtefeld in 11th (22:42.1), Madison Griffith in 14th (22:51.7) and Katie Newton in 15th (22:52.7) to round out the Pilot's scoring five. Both Izzy Lochtefeld, Madison Griffith and Milan Hague made their Pilot debut at the 6K distance, earning themselves personal records as a result. Tait Rowley and Katie Newton earned themselves PRs, as well.
The Pilots will be racing in two meets next week, including the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. and the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Ore. Both events will take place on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023. For more coverage and info, visit PortlandPilots.com.
