SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Portland volleyball team lost Saturday as the Sacramento State Hornets posted a four set (11-25, 25-22, 13-25, 15-25) win on the road at the The Nest. The non-conference loss moved Portland to 3-3 on the season.
Taina Kaauwai finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Pilots attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .3. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Maddie Corpe had 14 and Kili Robins had 10.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-11. Portland trailed by as many as 14 points as Sacramento State never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up just once before the Hornets took control.
SET 2 | Portland fired back from a first-set loss to take set two 25-22, evening the match at 1-1. The Pilots led from the opening point on in the set to secure the victory. Portland opened up as much as a six point lead at 23-17 before closing out the set.
SET 3 | Sacramento State responded to win set number three, putting Portland in a two sets to one hole. The Pilots lost the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before falling in the set 25-13.
SET 4 | Portland then dropped the fourth set 25-15 to finish off the match. The Pilots lost the first point and never clawed back into the lead before falling in the set.
