SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The Portland volleyball team jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but couldn't hang on and lost in four sets (25-21, 21-25, 19-25, 27-29) to the San Francisco Dons Saturday on the road at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. The loss dropped Portland's record to 6-8 overall and 1-1 in WCC play.
The Pilots were led by a double-double from Maui Robins, who registered 17 kills and 19 digs on the day. Lia Hawken also added 13 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Kili Robins chipped in for with 12 digs to go with three blocks from Taina Kaauwai.

SET 3 | Portland lost again in the third set to make it a 2-1 deficit. The Pilots lost a tough set 25-19. Portland trailed by as many as 10 points as San Francisco grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was knotted up just once before the Dons took over the lead.
SET 4 | Portland lost the fourth set and the match, falling 29-27. The Pilots fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way.
