PORTLAND, OR --The Portland Pilots racked up 11 blocks in a three-set (20-25, 16-25, 20-25) loss to the LMU Lions at home in the Chiles Center. The loss dropped Portland's record to 10-9 overall and 3-6 in WCC play.
Elin Larsson finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Pilots attack. Portland got a match-high 11 digs from Tinoa Woodward-Hart along with a match-high eight blocks from Taina Kaauwai to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots dropped the first set 25-20. Portland continued to fight and tied the set up once before the Lions took control.
SET 2 | A 25-16 set-two loss put Portland behind two sets to none in the match. Portland trailed early on but tied things up three times before LMU took over the lead.
SET 3 | LMU finished off the sweep with a set-three victory. The Pilots came up short by the score of 25-20. Pilots knotted the set up four times before the Lions grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17.
The Pilots will host the Pacific Tigers on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m, followed by a match against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 2 here at the Chiles Center. Live stats, live video and tickets for the match can be found at PortlandPilots.com.
