PORTLAND, OR -- The Portland Pilots fell 3-2 (21-25, 25-18, 14-25, 25-23, 12-15) to the Pacific Tigers at home at Chiles Center tonight. The loss dropped Portland's record to 10-10 overall and 3-7 in WCC play.

The Pilots offense was led by Elin Larsson and Maui Robins, each with 12 kills on the day. Taina Kaauwai chipped in with 11 as part of balanced Portland attack. Defensively, Portland had three players reach double figures in digs, including Tinoa Woodward-Hart (18), Larkin Chock (14) and Havannah Hoeft (11). From the front row, Nevaeh Bray contributed a match-high seven blocks and Kaauwai added six rejections.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots fought through a set that was tied up 10 times, dropping the first set 25-21.

SET 2 | Portland responded to pick up a 25-18 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Pilots scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Portland opened as much as a 12-point lead at 22-10 before finishing off the set, collecting 16 kills. The Pilots hit .424 over the course of the set. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Pacific attacks in the set.

SET 3 | Pacific took a 2-1 match lead after taking down the Pilots in set three. The Pilots continued to trail before losing the set 25-14.

SET 4 | Portland then responded to secure set four 25-23 to force a fifth set. The Pilots
survived a back-and-forth set to win in a set that featured four lead changes and was tied seven times. Neither team was able to grab a lead larger than four points along the way.

SET 5 | Portland came up short in a back-and-forth match, winning the second and fourth sets, but dropping the final fifth, which they
fall 12-15.
