COLFAX, Wash. -- Portland Pilots Women's Cross Country claimed fifth at the NCAA West Regionals, with four runners finishing in the Top 30. Two runners earned All-Region honors, with Laura Pellicoro and Fleur Templier earning honors.
 
Pellicoro led the team, finishing eighth in 19:42.5. Starting in the top 20, she passed nine runners in the final 2k to break into the top 10. Templier followed in 11th with a PR of 19:47.7, staying steady in the top 15 throughout the race. Maebh Richardson (20:16.4 PR) and Juliette Forstrom (20:17.7 PR) placed 26th and 27th, respectively, with Richardson moving up from 35th and Forstrom passing 20 runners. Stina Pettersson rounded out the scoring five in 90th with a PR of 21:20.3, advancing 13 spots in the final stretch.
 
By finishing in the top 25, Pellicoro and Templier secured their All-Region honors. Pellicoro's finish ranks third among individual runners who were not already running for an automatic qualifier, putting her in stellar position to make the NCAA Cross Country Championships as an individual.
 
The official selection show for nationals is tomorrow, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. The NCAA National Championships are on Nov. 23 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course in Verona, Wis. For more updates, visit PortlandPilots.com.
