LODI, Calif. -- The Pilot women secured second-place team finish at the WCC Championships, with all four top-10 finishers earning All-WCC First Team honors.
Last year's Freshman of the Year, Fleur Templier, led the Pilots with a second-place finish in 20:03.6. Laura Pellicoro followed closely, placing fourth with a time of 20:07.6. Maebh Richardson (20:22.4) and Juliette Forstrom (20:23.8) also secured top-10 finishes, taking ninth and 10th places, respectively, to earn All-Conference First Team honors. Rose Perotin rounded out the Pilots' scoring five with a 24th-place finish in 21:08.1, bringing the team to an overall second-place finish with 49 points.
"The team ran great!" head coach Ian Solof said. "I was really impressed with how they performed and kept their composure. Having four in the top 10 was really impressive, and Laura was amazing considering this was her first cross country race in a year. We are excited to keep the momentum going in two weeks at Regionals."
The Pilots will be racing next at the NCAA West Regional on Nov. 15
th at Colfax Golf Course in Colfax, Wash. For more coverage and info, visit PortlandPilots.com.
