CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots could not overcome a dynamic Beavers offense Thursday on the road losing to Oregon State in straight sets (19-25, 19-25, 4-25). The loss dropped Portland's record to 12-14 overall and 5-11 in WCC play.

Taina Kaauwai finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Pilots attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .529. Portland got six digs from Tinoa Woodward-Hart to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Pilots found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-19. Portland notted up the set  five times before Oregon State grabbed the advantage for good at 16-15.

SET 2 | Portland lost set two 25-19, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Portland trailed and knotted up the set three times before the Beavers took over in the second half.

SET 3 | Portland couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Pilots fell behind early on and never clawed back into the lead before falling in the set.
