PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep of Montana on Friday at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots improve to 6-5 on the season, while the Grizzlies fall to 1-8.

The Pilots swept all three doubles matches to set the tone. Alaia Rubio Perez and Nadine Arbaizar Martinez won 6-1 at No. 3 doubles and then the No. 2 duo of Aleksandra Dimitrijevic and Meagan Pearson provided the clinch with a 6-2 victory. Sally Pethybridge and Rimona Rouf finished doubles with a 6-3 win at the top spot.

Singles continued to favor the Portland as the Pilots won all six matches in straight sets. Rubio Perez doubled Portland's lead with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 against Kelsey Phillips. Pethybridge beat Hailey Murphy 6-4, 6-4 at the top of the lineup and then Dimitrijevic got the clinching point with a 6-0, 7-5 defeat of Grace Haugen.

Arbaizar Martinez, Rouf and Pearson completed the sweep in efficient fashion.

Portland will next take the court hosting Eastern Washington on Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m.
