SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Portland senior Tyler Robertson added to his yearend awards by being named to the WCC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Robertson, who was
named to the All-WCC Second Team yesterday, is earning a psychology degree and has posted a 3.34 cumulative grade-point average while earning Dean's List recognition in the fall. This is the second straight season he has been named to the WCC All-Academic Team.
The Melbourne, Australia native is concluding a decorated career on The Bluff. Robertson finished the regular season ranked third in the WCC in scoring (16.5), fifth in assists per game (3.7) and free throw percentage (.808), seventh in field goal percentage (.451), eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6), 10th in three-pointers made (58) and second in minutes per game (35.3).
Robertson's 34 points at Santa Clara are tied for the league's single-game high this year and he also dropped 32 at home against the Broncos later in the season.
The Pilots now head to the 2024 Union 1 WCC Basketball Championships at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Portland earned the No. 6 seed and an opening round bye. The Pilots will face No. 7 LMU on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in a second-round game with the winner moving on to a quarterfinals game against No. 3 San Francisco on Saturday.
