SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Portland Pilots struggled on Tuesday, falling to the Washington Huskies by final score of 11-2.
Kaden Segel (0-3) got the ball to start for Portland (22-12) and took the loss. Ryan Rembisz was a bright spot for the Pilots, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing one hit, with no walks and one strikeout.
In the batter's box, the Pilots were paced by junior Riley McCarthy, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a home run, a walk and an RBI.
How it Happened
The Pilots went hitless through the first five innings of Tuesday's contest. During those innings, Washington put up seven runs to take a commanding lead heading into the sixth. The Pilots got on the board that inning thanks to a solo homer from McCarthy.
The Huskies expanded their lead to 11-1 before the Pilots offense got back on the board. McCarthy came across to score the lone run of the inning for Portland, which brought the score to 11-2 in favor of the Huskies. That score proved to be the final.
