HONOLULU, Hawaii – Portland Pilots Beach Volleyball earned two wins on Monday, taking down the Chaminade Silverswords 3-2 and then sweeping the Hawaii Pacific Sharks 5-0. The Pilots have 10 wins on the year, marking the first time in program history Portland has reached the mark.
 
Against Chaminade, the Pilots earned wins in the first, second and fifth flights. The Portland 5s earned the first win, with Jordan Bardouche and Valerie Bruk dominating by scores of 21-12 and 21-7. Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson followed that with a win in the first flight 21-14 and 21-13, then the Pilots clinched it with a win in the second flight thanks to Sophie Lee and Annika Stammberger. They won by scores of 21-15 and 21-17. The Pilots lost the other two flights, with the fourth flight pushing the Swords to three games.
 
The Pilots cruised through their second match of the day for their 10^th win of the season. The fifth flight finished first, with the same duo winning by scores of 21-11 and 21-9. The fourth flight, featuring Elena Bullemer and Kili Robins, followed that with 21-9 and 21-5 routs to take their match. The Pilots clinched the match with their win by the original 1s, 21-16 and 21-14. The Portland 3s of Taylor Helle and Maui Robins took their match by scores of 21-16 and 21-17 while the original 2s battled for their win in three games, winning the first game 21-15 before losing 21-19 and winning 15-12.
 
Next, the Pilots host the Oregon Ducks for their second home match of the season against the Oregon Ducks on Friday, April 19 at the Tom and Meg Names Family Foundation Beach Volleyball Courts. Matches will begin at 12 p.m. Check PortlandPilots.com for live stats and video options.
