PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to the Pacific Tigers on Saturday at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center. Portland concludes the regular season 10-11 overall and 3-5 in WCC matches. The Pilots honored the team's four seniors in a pre-match ceremony as Iva Zelic, Rimona Rouf, Rose Watanabe and Jojo Bach made their final appearance at LPTC.

Despite the loss, the Pilots have qualified for the 2024 WCC Tournament held April 23-25 at the Aztec Tennis Center on the San Diego State University campus. The top six teams in the WCC standings qualify for the tournament. Portland will be the No. 6 seed and get a rematch against No. 3 Pacific in Thursday's opening round.

Portland had the early advantage pn Saturday with solid doubles play. Rouf and Alaia Rubio Perez beat Megan Carmichael and Indiya McLeod 6-3 at the No. 3 position. Zelic and Sally Pethybridge then clinched the point with a 7-5, comeback win at No. 1 doubles against Klara Kosan and Tomi Main.

The Tigers (13-6, 4-2) earned straight set wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to take a 2-1 lead, but Zelic pulled out a 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Kosan at the top of the lineup to even the score at 2-2.

Portland took the opening sets at No. 4 and No. 5 singles courtesy of Aleksandra Dimitrijevic and Rouf, respectively, but the Tigers battled back to win both matches in three sets to clinch the overall team victory.
