PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots fell 2-1 at home to the USC Trojans Saturday at Merlo Field. The loss dropped Portland's record to 2-2-1 overall.
Hailey Still scored the lone goal for the Pilots, doing so off a penalty kick in the 86th minute. Kayla Colbert and Maile Hayes scored the two goals for the Trojans.
How it Happened
Southern California broke the scoreless tie when Kayla Colbert scored in the 29th minute, assisted by Helena Sampaio and Jaiden Anderson.
The Trojans went up 2-0 on a goal from Maile Hayes in the 56th minute.
Portland got on the scoreboard to make it a 2-1 match on Hailey Still's 86th-minute goal, her third of the season. Neither team scored again in the game.

- Bre Norris recorded four saves for the Pilots out of 16 total Trojans shots. She's recorded at least four saves in three of five games.
- Norris is at 217 career saves, just 23 saves away from third place all-time.
- Still's goal makes her the leader on the team with three this season. She's the first Pilot since 2021 to reach three goals in the first five games of the year.
